Wir haben das Semesterticket gekündigt. Keine Panik, ihr könnt dieses noch bis zum 31.08.2024 nutzen.

Warum mussten wir kündigen?
Der Grund ist der geringe Preisunterschied zum Deutschlandticket.
Das Semesterticket setzt sich aus zwei Beträgen zusammen. Zum einen der Betrag von 160,62 Euro für das VRR Ticket und zum anderen die Erweiterung für die Fahrten in ganz NRW von 59,40 Euro. Somit zahlen wir pro Semester einen Betrag von 220,02 Euro pro Person. Mit Einführung des 49-Euro-Tickets stehen diese Preise und Konditionen in keinem Vergleich zu dem, was wir aktuell zahlen (36,67 Euro pro Monat). Kurz gesagt, die Rabattierung, die vorher bestand, ist mit Einführung des Deutschlandtickets zu niedrig. Dies macht uns rechtlich angreifbar. Auch aufgrund von möglichen Klagen gegen das Solidarmodell kann es zu einem enormen finanziellen Schaden der Studierendenschaft führen.
Schon seit April sind wir mit mehreren Stellen (VRR, Landesverkehrsministerium etc.) in Kontakt und suchen nach einer Lösung. Wir versuchen es auch weiterhin! Da weder vom VRR noch vom Land bisher Lösungsvorschläge kamen, wurden wir jetzt allerdings zum Handeln gezwungen.
Zur Erinnerung, wir haben unter anderem vor einigen Monaten auf die Petition für ein bundesweites 129-Euro-Ticket (pro Semester) für Studierende aufmerksam gemacht, welche vom Landes-ASten-Treffen (LAT) NRW ins Leben gerufen wurde.

Why did we have to quit?
The reason is the small price difference to the Germany ticket.
The semester ticket consists of two amounts. On the one hand the amount of 160,62€ for the VRR ticket and on the other hand the extension for trips throughout NRW of 59,40€. We therefore pay an amount of 220,02€ per person per semester. With the introduction of the 49-euro ticket, these prices and conditions are in no way comparable to what we are currently paying (36.67€ per month). In short, the discount that existed before is too low with the introduction of the 49-euro Ticket. This makes us legally vulnerable. Also due to possible lawsuits against the solidarity model, it can lead to enormous financial damage to the student body.
We have been in contact with several bodies (VRR, State Ministry of Transport, etc.) since April and are looking for a solution. We keep trying! Since neither the VRR nor the state have come up with any solution proposals, we have now been forced to act.
As a reminder, a few months ago we drew attention to the petition for a nationwide 129€ ticket (per semester) for students, which was launched by the State ASten Meeting (LAT) Nordrhein-Westfahlen.
